We selected it as a result of Emdash wishes a beautiful deep desktop runtime: terminals, report observing, Git/worktrees, native DB, supplier CLIs, SSH, diffs, and so forth. Electron provides us essentially the most mature trail for that throughout macOS, Home windows, and Linux.
On heaviness: completely truthful worry. We’ve spent a large number of time preserving the app responsive and warding off needless background paintings. The brokers themselves most often dominate CPU/RAM, now not the shell UI. That mentioned, we’re actively optimizing startup, activity switching etcc!
